RCMP reports attempt to lure child

Hinton RCMP say an investigation is ongoing after a reported attempt to lure children from their home in East Hardisty last week.

RCMP responded to a report of a man in the Skogg Avenue area attempted to lure two children out of their home on April 24 at around 5 pm by stating he knew their parents and was sent to get them.

“One of the children shut and locked the door and called a parent for help who subsequently called RCMP. It is unknown if the male left on foot or by vehicle,” reported the RCMP in a release issued April 27.

Information obtained from the family describes a caucasian male, early to mid 20s, approximately 5’10” to 6” feet tall with short light brown hair and a thin goatee.
